Human-authored logo design People author every mark.

At Brand1, a brand and creative studio, a named designer draws every logo, keeps the record and runs a trademark search, so the mark you own is one you can protect.

Why it matters

A mark you cannot protect is not really yours. So we draw it by hand, and keep the record of how it was made.

That record is what lets you register the mark, defend it and build on it for decades.

People author. AI multiplies.

AI scales the expression. People author the identity. That line does not move.

Six rules on IP ownership, on every job.

Written down, so you can hold us to them.

  1. 01

A named designer draws every mark.

Every logo, wordmark, symbol and mascot is drawn and finished by a person whose name is on it.

  2. 02

    The exploration is kept.

Sketches, routes and decisions are kept on record. That record is what lets you protect the mark.

  3. 03

    We search before we deliver.

A trademark search is run before the master artwork leaves the studio.

  4. 04

    AI scales the expression.

Sizes, versions, languages and formats come from the system. The mark itself does not.

  5. 05

Every file says how it was made.

Delivered files carry Content Credentials: which AI tools were used, and what people changed. We never strip them.

  6. 06

    Your material trains nothing shared.

What you give us is never used to train shared models. Anything we train for you belongs to you.

AI and copyright in design

Our policy sets out where AI is used, how files are labelled and what you own at the end of an engagement.

FAQ

Owning the mark

Can an AI-generated logo be trademarked or copyrighted?

It is uncertain. The US Copyright Office, for example, has said that material generated by AI without meaningful human authorship cannot be registered for copyright, and trademark rules differ by country. That is why every Brand1 mark is drawn and finished by a named designer, with the exploration kept on record and a trademark search run before delivery.

Who owns the logo Brand1 designs?

The client does. The rights in the delivered mark, master artwork and Brand Source pass to the client, as set out in the engagement terms. The record of sketches, routes and decisions is kept and handed over too, because it is the evidence of human authorship that helps you register, defend and build on the mark.

Does Brand1 use AI to draw logos?

No. Brand1 may use AI to read research or explore broad visual territory, but every logo, wordmark, symbol and mascot is drawn and finished by a named designer. AI is used afterwards to scale the expression: sizes, versions, languages and formats generated from the approved system. The mark itself is human-authored, and the file says how it was made.

Will our material be used to train someone else's AI model?

No. What a client gives Brand1 is never used to train shared or public models. Where we train or fine-tune a model for a client, for example on their approved imagery, that model and its outputs belong to the client alone. This is written into our AI and Content Credentials policy.

How can we see what AI touched in a delivered file?

Every delivered file carries Content Credentials, the C2PA standard for provenance. They list which AI tools were used and what people changed, so anyone checking the file can see how it was made. Brand1 never strips them. Where the law or a platform asks for a visible label, such as “Video created using AI”, we add it.
