For brand owners

What changes when your brand lives in one place.

Living brand guidelines replace the PDF with a brand portal that is always current: a single source of truth for brand, read by people and by AI tools.

01

Always current.

No more PDFs frozen at handover. When the brand changes, everyone sees the change the same day, with a note on who approved it and why.

02

Everyone on the same page.

Your teams, your agencies and the AI tools they use all work from the same logo, words and rules. Partners see only what they need.

03

Yours to keep.

You own the brand and everything in it. Take all of it with you, in open formats, whenever you like.

A PDF is out of date the day it ships.

Brand assets for AI tools, not just for people.

Brand Source publishes brand tokens for colour, type and spacing, ready for your design and build tools. AI tools and developers connect to it directly (see For developers), so AI tools read the logo, voice and rules before they generate, and Brand Check scores what comes back. Read why brand guidelines stopped working, or see the brand governance service that sets one up.

FAQ

Digital brand guidelines, answered

What are digital brand guidelines?

Digital brand guidelines are brand rules kept online as a living, versioned source instead of a fixed PDF. They hold the logo, colour, type, voice, assets and rules for each format, update the same day a change is approved, and can be read by people and by the AI tools that make work for the brand.

Why do PDF brand guidelines stop working?

PDF brand guidelines stop working because they are frozen at handover. The brand moves on, files get copied, and new formats appear that the PDF never covered. Few people open a long document, and AI tools cannot read it reliably. The result is drift: old colours, squeezed logos and missing legal lines across everyday work.

How do you give AI tools your brand guidelines?

Give AI tools your brand guidelines as structured data, not a PDF. Brand Source exposes the logo, design tokens, tone of voice, required lines and format rules directly, pinned to a version. The tool reads the brand before it generates, and Brand Check scores what comes back.

What is Brand Source?

Brand Source is the digital brand guidelines platform built by Brand1, a brand and creative studio. It keeps eight layers of a brand in one living place: core, voice, look, sound, assets, models, rules and evidence. It is included in every Identity Programme. Licences open in 2027; terms are scope-dependent and on the price sheet.

Who owns the brand inside Brand Source?

The client owns the brand and everything in Brand Source. Content, files, style references and records belong to you, and can be exported in open formats within 24 hours without our help. Each client's brand is kept apart with its own storage and keys, and your material never trains shared models.

Every Identity Programme ends in a Brand Source.
